Its been a little while since we had the pleasure of Princeless gracing the London stage... the last big one was for our sister venue The Book Club at 'Bookstock' on the outdoor stage to a huge crowd of adoring crowds singing along at the top of their voices! The're back - this time in the Queen of Hoxton intimate live basement so we can all get down and sweaty to some purple tinted jams with the unmissable Princeless Tribute Band!!
Brainchild of Singer Ross Morton, ‘Princeless’ are sure to deliver an exciting, high-energy, strangely convincing and mega-tight show. Friends and strangers often compared Ross’s look to that of Prince while growing up. He thought it high time to put this likeness to his teen idol to good use.
Ross is able to flawlessly imitate Prince’s vocal phrasing with the same signature falsetto on tunes such as ‘Kiss’ and ‘Purple Rain’. Each song gushes with whimsical teen fantasy, stories of flirtation and erotic encounter. Occasionally, so moved by the song, Ross is reduced to real tears of deep emotion and melodrama.
Musically, the band has strived to recreate the unique ‘Minneapolis’ funk sound prevalent in all of Prince’s production. Built around a 5-piece band, ‘Princeless’ deliver all the hits with raw passion and a sexy, camp edge.
Live, you can hear the tireless hours spent perfecting the groove, timing and big sound of Prince’s music. As a direct result of this, ‘Princeless’ are a dance floor-rocking band.
